They commissioned a sketch but then I decided to just go further with it. I really liked the concept and it seemed like a really atmosphere-reliant piece that would benefit from a more thoroughly-rendered background. So that's what I did.

Still a fairly quick one as far as my painty-work goes, but I'm pretty pleased with this nonetheless. My palettes have been really warm lately. I'm enjoying it, but wonder if I'm approaching a state of overdoing it. I guess if at some point I notice everything I'm producing looks like it's engulfed in flames I will then proceed to seek guidance.

I was told that the concept was very symbolism-heavy as well as personal, but I didn't get much context beyond that. Feel free to interpret however it suits you.
