It was originally smearing cuss words onto the window pane with its finger grease but I didn't want to scare the children

Yellow windows evoke this vivid imagery of a yellow window in my past that I'm not sure even actually ever existed. It's a memory of my parents' house long before we lived there and it was very early in the morning. The back door had a small slit of window filled with warped glass that is sometimes used in shower doors, but it was a deep amber color.
