Day 27 - Climb

Skogskisse

"I first saw Percival when I was on guard duty, one windy summer afternoon. This was during my early days as a guard; I was very green, barely able to distinguish the difference between a falcon and buzzard from a distance. I had just climbed one of the tallest spruces for the daily lookout for birds of prey. The City Council made the decision long ago that guards should be posted around the city, in order to protect it from any and all intruders. It wouldn't do to leave all the unwary citizens to the falcons.

Nothing was in the sky that day except for clouds. Eventually I grew bored and directed my spyglass to the ground (stupid, I know, but give me a break - I was new to the whole thing). All of a sudden, I see a brash young mouse walking towards the city entrance, herding one of the scouts toward the gates. Mind you, the mouse was pointing his swo-... rusty nail at the scout. Whatever he was trying to do, it didn't look like he had good intentions. I decided to investigate, and one thing led to another..."

It was only after inking this piece that I realised she's not even holding the spyglass to her eye... Ignore that.

Cyclop-style spying is sadly not very effective.
