Oooh, this is niiice. I really like the more reptilian take on his neck position, his teeth, and the rather hypnotic stare, like he's channeling Kaa from The Jungle Book. It's a fun little twist on this character while not fully redesigning him. The shading is also quite lovely, very disorientating but definitely strikingly so with the chroma key on the shadows and I wouldn't have it any other way. It probably would've been neat to have his hypnotic stare be the brightest thing in the drawing but I also really like the choice you made here where he's backed up by the white glare.
