I saw a cardinal in a tree and was interested in how much it contrasted in terms of color against the drab winter environment.
I decided to draw something similar. Playing around with using the tree branches as a sort of framing/compositional device.

In a similar light I also go around for late walks to look at how the sky changes with the setting sun, as it has this unusual contrasts; I've seen some of the richest tones of blues with the strong and fading orange, that even years seeing such a combination it ... haunts me.
