I haven't posted in a while, been busy with personal life and class. I figured I should post more to keep my gallery updated. I've been working on a few fan concepts such as Fakemon and Sonic stuff as well as original content like my animations, stories, and original art, but recently I've been working a lot on dinosaurs and prehistory, so I figured I should do stuff relating to The Land Before Time. I was actually a huge fan of The Land Before Time growing up. The first movie made me and my parents cry, the first few sequels from The Great Valley Adventure up to The Mysterious Island were pretty good to me and I thought the mid-series sequels were okay. The later sequels though, they were kind of... meh. They weren't bad, but they weren't good either. There's definitely a lot left to be desired with the newer movies, but I hope I'm not taken as speaking purely from a place of nostalgia without any nuance.
Either way, I always wanted to make a Land Before Time fan story as a kid and I often drew the main cast and some random sharpteeth, but I didn't have any writing knowledge at the time and I was still learning to type, I frequently misspelled some dinosaur names for that reason. My own fanfiction concepts probably wouldn't live up to the expectations of the original sequels or the first movie, but I figured it would be worth a try when I would eventually get better at writing and drawing. So far the concepts I came up with were three new species that haven't been featured in any of the movies so far. One is a Nanuqsaurus named Blackmane, a polar species of featherhead sharptooth from "The Sparkling Land" as leaf-eaters would call it, but we know it as the Arctic Circle. She speaks broken leaf-eater as well as the typical growls and roars a sharptooth would make.
The other two are technically a subcategory of both sharpteeth and tickly fuzzies. I thought it would be neat if later species of mammals gradually evolved into the world of The Land Before Time, so I picked a dire wolf and an actual wolf (whom I wanted to have the same pose as Skip) which the leaf-eaters dubbed "night howlers". Although they are considered sharpteeth, they're actually somewhat neutral to leaf-eaters. Some of the cast might react harshly towards them based on their dietary differences though, we all know Topps will.
