Titanium Rainbow Dragon by SerenFey

Titanium Rainbow Dragon

SerenFey

This fella was made using the dip anodizing method. Basically, you hold him at different points, and slowly dip in and out of the anodizing fluid to achieve different levels of colour in nice gradient, as seen here.

Due to the nature of this method of anodizing, this fella is 100% One-of-a-kind. It is impossible to achieve identical results using this method, simply due to human error--I will never be able to dip anodize another one that looks exactly like this again. So many factors, including timing, number of dips, the angle at which he is held, the settings on the anodizing box, and many other things, make him unique.

That and he's made of titanium, and titanium is a horror to work with. Not only have I bruised the palm of my hand working on this fella, I actually bruised every single one of my fingers from having to apply so much pressure on the pliers.

He's made of 100% titanium, and likely won't ever happen again.

The only portion of him that wasn't dip-anodized were his eyes--I anodized them separately in order to ensure they'd be the same colour, and stand out from his body. Otherwise, he started off as a pure dark silver colour, and after he came out of his bath, he looks like this.
