Possibly the best known bear here in Kansas City. Nikita the Polar Bear calls his home at the Kansas City Zoo. He is one of the biggest attractions in the Kansas City Zoo and is the most well known animal there. When he is out in his encloser he will be jumping in and out of the water, sometimes with toys like barrels and plastic pipes as you see here. He gets a kick out of anything the Zookeeepers bring in there. In February 2013 he was joined in the pen by another polar bear called Berlin who came from the Lake Superior Zoo in an attempt to have Nikita breed with her for the Species Survival Program. So far no luck on the first try but right now they are making a second try in hopes to have polar bear cubs. So wish them luck
