A Friendly Raptor in a Tree

sawblade5

This is an image of a black vulture I took at the Shepard of the Hill Hatchery Area. in Branson, MO. There are a ton of these guys in the area as they like to hang out at the nearby Table Rock Dam or at the Hatchery picking off dead fish and so on. there were a bunch of em in the aera where I took this picture at. As soon as I can find the group photo of em I'll upload, but for now enjoy this one.

This guy here was very camera friendly and I didn't get to close as I didn't want to get spit at (spiting is what a vulture does when threatened and from what I heard not a thing that you want happen to ya, it goes on the same level as being sprayed by a skunk) or ganged up on from the nearby group.

I considerer Vultures to be on of the friendliest raptors around because they don't generally kill for their meals, it's already dead for em.
