Blind Date (6 of 6) by SatsumaLord

Blind Date (6 of 6)

SatsumaLord

After Travis paid for dinner, they both left the restaurant and started walking side by side toward Nina’s home. It was fairly dark out now, only the moon and some street lights provided any real illumination. As they walked, Nina started the conversation again. “I…I had a wonderful time tonight.” “Yeah, I had fun too.” Travis stated “Except in the beginning, that was sort-of awkward.” Nina giggled, “Yeah, it was.” Nina’s smile slowly faded away, she then spoke “Um…this is probably the best date I’ve ever had.” With that statement she had Travis’ attention. She continued “The only time I’ve ever gone out with anyone was when I was on a blind date. I’ve gone on dozens of blind dates, but none of them ever ended well. In fact, many of them never really started; the guy would see me and then make up some kind of excuse to try and get out of it, like claiming he was someone else. And the ones that did stay, only stayed for a little while. Maybe half way trough, they’d make up an excuse like “I need to go to the bathroom.” or “I have to go to work.” In any case, they would just abandon me and I’d never see them again. Every date I ever had failed horribly, except for this one; which is why I have to know. Why did you stay?” “What?” Travis asked. Nina repeated her question, “Why did you stay?” Travis replied to her query, “I’m not really sure why. I guess I didn’t think it was right to just bail out on you like that; besides, you’re an amazing person and I thought it would be nice to be with you.” Nina began to blush profusely. “You…you think I’m amazing?” “Well, yeah.” Travis answered, “You’re probably the most incredible person I’ve ever met.” Nina blushed even more, so much so her whole face turned into a deep crimson. She turned her face slightly away from Travis and put her hand on her cheek. “He…he thinks I’m amazing.” Nina thought to herself.

Moments later, they arrived at her home; an apartment complex known as Hillview Gardens. The building itself looked fairly wide but it only went up 15 stories, so it wasn’t very tall compared to other structures. There was also a railed stairway, with a pair of large double doors that acted as the building’s entrance. The stairway was rather wide; it could accommodate maybe four or five people standing from shoulder to shoulder and it only had five steps leading to the doorway. It was easily wide enough for Nina to pass through though.

“Well, this is it.” Nina proclaimed “Again, I had a great time.” “Yeah, so did I.” said Travis. “I guess this is good night then.” Travis commented, “I wanted to ask though, could I…” He couldn’t finish his statement. Nina had just kissed his cheek and he was surprised by that fact. Apparently, she was able to get on her knees and place her hand on the small of his back without him noticing. Anyway, when her lips pressed up against his cheek, he just froze. He was stunned by how delicate and passionate her kiss was. After Nina removed her lips, he placed his hand on his cheek and smiled. Nina rose and turned away before she started up the stairway. Travis quickly realized that she was leaving. “Uh…Nina?” Travis queried. “Yes?” responded Nina as she stood on the second step looking back. “Um…could I…uh…see you again sometime?” Nina smiled and blushed, “Y-yes, of course.” “Great!” he exclaimed “How does tomorrow at seven sound?” “That sounds lovely.” replied Nina. “Alright then, I’ll see you tomorrow. Good night, Nina.” stated Travis. “Good night, Travis.” replied Nina. Travis walked away from the building as Nina traveled up the stairway again. “That date went a lot better than I thought it would.” thought Travis. “I can hardly wait to see her again tomorrow.”
