unit history:

the Pockets mobile suit was developed soon after the Riot Vanquish completed its trials. Pockets represented the peak of Separatist military power in that it was able to quickly simplify and then distribute to its frontline units the near latest technology. In essence, the Pockets was a simplified version of the Riot Vanquish though with some improvements.

The sequenced-shot gun serves in the role of giving the Pockets a weapon that could function at all-ranges with the downside being that it was dependent on the type of ammo fed to achieve the results. the beam packet allowed mid-long range engagements, the flak shell worked best at mid-short range, the rocket propelled grenade excelled in long-range and the super cavitator worked best at mid-range as a stand-in for units without access to beam equipment for some reason.

the mass-production versions of the BULK and beam riot gun would perform well though not to the high standards of the original, though this is offset by the fact that if all units used the same weapons, the firepower and defence achieved overall would beat a single high-end unit. the heavy bazooka could only fire either the MABBS or a SHEF round due to simplification of the weapon system whereby the option to integrate a generator proved to be too troublesome to simplify and was dropped. the MABBS round itself was inferior in that the yield was only a quarter the size of the original, though still devastating in its effect. the only weapons comparable to the original are the beam interceptor guns, beam sword/gun and the high-output beam sabers, though the number of high-output beam sabers was dropped to 2.

the long-range backpack enables the unit to remain on an extended patrol or conduct deep-strike missions. As a general purpose mobile suit, the Pockets serves well enough in being able to achieve break-throughs and holding them though they are likely to not last as long in a protracted engagement.

the unit was nicknamed Pockets due to the number of hidden looking weapons, an allusion to how an assassin would hide a small pistol in his coat pocket.
