Nightmare Bay by Sake Loup

Through the shadows and along the way,
there is a place I know, called Nightmare Bay.

I know this place well,
and I'm scared to tell

of the things there that haunt me.
I go there every night, you see.

Do not for a second believe I do this by choice, though,
every time I close my eyes my feet start to wander and I just have to go.

Through the shadows and along the way,
there's no escaping Nightmare Bay.

Now out of the dark water an old, wrecked ship rises.
After years of reliving this story, there are no surprises.

The faceless captain in a tattered coat
drags me, struggling, onto his fiendish boat.

Passengers sit with their arms pulled up around their knees
as they cry and scream their pleas.

The waves begin their deadly dance against the ship,
and it starts to thrash and dip.

Harsh winds have strewn us off course;
from the sea, there is no relief or remorse.

Through the shadows and along the way,
I know no terror like Nightmare Bay.

Sharp rocks are revealed by the low tide.
Oh, how I just wish to run and hide!

Alas, I shall soon fall to the murky deep.
As the ship goes down I can do nothing but weep.

The last thing I feel is the icy water chilling my bones.
Now, once again I awake among the grave stones.

Through the shadows and along the way,
here forever I lie; I am the lost soul of Nightmare Bay.

Nightmare Bay
