This is kind of how I've always seen horse/hooved animals' hands, except that the hoof/nail starts at t he first nuckle and are very short.

This is a really appealing design idea here. I love it.
I like how the palms and underside of the fingers are skin but the tops are fur, and how that helps shape the forms.
The finger tips themselves are the right mix in my opinion of hoof and actual usefulness.
