OK, either you have to stop being so good OR you have to meet me someplace and teach me some of your tricks!
Your words flatter me [Bows]
All my secrets are open to all. 3 points: Determination, Read, and Practice. It takes a long time and progress seems slow, but each doodle, each piece is a step forward. That is all it takes. [Grin]
I will be 60 in September, I have been drawing all my life...I still lack your ability to do art that looks like a photo!
Well, I have been striving to be an artist sense I was 5. I wanted to understand art, imagery, reality, and my imagination. So, I may have had a head start. Not every piece I do comes out like this one. I still have duds, and bombs, but I try and learn what went wrong with those and not repeat the mistakes. Then there is an art in making your mistakes look like success, like you meant to do it, and there by it becomes "Art".
Thinking that way, will never get you to your desired goals. You ARE good enough (everyone is), you just have to stay at it. Determination, Read, and Practice. Another suggestion I have, is go to Youtube, and watch videos on Art Techniques. Sometime it helps to see how other people do it. Art classes also don't hurt (if you can afford it). Art is a "Skill" it takes training, learning, and experience to get better at it like any other skill. Its just a REALLY hard skill to master.
Another thing, is the curse of the artists. No matter how good you get, you always see someone who is better, and you will feel like you are never getting better, or progressing. Its like a ladder. There are people above you and you are constantly looking up at them, but there are more people below you looking up at you. Remember that.
