Commission for Aubrin

This is Aubrin the Ninja Killer Penguin/Gryph/Thing with crazy big hair. The prior version bothered me, badly. It was missing that pizzazz, something was off and I could not put my finger on it. I decided to redraw the whole thing from scratch (of course after hours of wallowing in self pity for being a failure). There was much that I felt did not look right with the first one and a second try would allow me to correct everything. Version 2, in my opinion came out MUCH better.

This commission was a hard one. The problem is that I tried to stay true to his character design which is very toony and translate it into realism with out being toony. I took some liberties with the very “little” clothing, not as complex as he normally wears, which is also very little *smirk*. Anyhow, done with 2H, and 4B Staedler Lumograph, HB (Hard), 2B (Med), and 4B (Soft) General's Charcoal pencil, plus my Eraser Stick, and Kneaded Eraser on Bristol paper.
