An inside view of the Cog Railway on its descent.
Fun fact, for safety reasons, the coach we're in isn't connected to the engine. Ever see those films where a train derails and it pulls all the other cars after it into a fiery wreck? Well, the Cog people saw those films as well. In case this engine jumps the tracks or loses control and zips down too fast, the brakeman (the guy in purple at the front) can pull on the brakes and keep us safe.
The brakeman is also a bit of a tour guide, keeping up a steady patter throughout the trip on sights, history of the cog and other minutiae.
