Now we come to the one unique thing I invented for these guys - tail bows!

Meanwhile, on the Eastern Continent, the Ezzen Tribe was the first to invent that uniquely raptorcatish weapon: the tail bow. With their small, weak, arms awkwardly slung under their body, a raptorcat could never wield a traditional bow, or any other projectile weapon such as a slingshot. Their solution was to use their tails, flexible where a pure velociraptor's would be stiff. This allowed them to put their full body strength into the weapon, making it far more powerful and further-ranged than the bow of any other race, and comparable to an ancient Roman ballista.

The weapon was nigh-impossible to load oneself, so, the Ezzen put young apprentice bowcats to the task. As Ezzen society advanced in social stratification, these bowcats became the renowned Bow Knights of the North, and their squires tended to the loading of their bows. On the Northern Plains of Rapis, they were able to take full advantage of the range of their weapons, and dominated. Their formations were strikingly modern - Bow Knights arrayed on hilltops with coordinated volleys much like modern artillery, and the combination of knight and squire was comparable to a two-man heavy weapon team.

In the Forests of the East, however, the Bow Knights were charged by melee warriors and lost battles, so over time, the Ezzen lost control of wooded areas, and gained control of grassy places.
