Italy sketch Journal Day 6

9-11-2016 (A moment of silence for those who lost their lives on that day 15 years ago)

Venice was amazing. A city built on water from more than half a Milenia ago felt like stepping into history itself. Though ancient cultures aside, I had a fun time in Italy. Beleive it or not, every time I walk pass a corner or two, there is a mask shop and a gelataria (Italian ice-cream pallor). Heck, even coffee shops in Venice doubled as a bar. I will never understand why. Different cultures I guess. I took plenty of pictures of Venice and its waters (though I am not sure if Weasyl will let me.)

During lunch, my sister took me to an Italian resturant. The waiter spoke in perfict english and understood what i wanted from his menu. I ordered ravioli, and it tasted well. and the white wine was spectacular. I did joke to myself about becoming addicted to white wine.

After lunch, my sister and I trotted from bridge to bridge to see the landscapes and popular tourist destination. But what i was really focused on is the artistic culture of the city. Every now and then, i would see an artist painting the landscape or the city blocks. I was mesmerized by their artistic skills. I plan to learn Watercoloring when i get back to the US.

Venice is something like what Antlantis would be if it was floating. But much like Antlantis, it will sink into the ocean. I remember reading up on what cities will be sunk into the ocean one day thanks to the melting polar ice caps. Now, I am not saying that we should blow up greenhouse plants or trash pre-2000. Global warming is inevitable by default. Probably in a 100 years, water cities like Venice will probably be swallowed by the ocean. All good things come to an end I guess. But who knows: Maybe someone will help construct domes for Venice so it can turn into an underwater habitable city.

Anyways, I had a wounderful time in Venice. Sorry i Could not put enough into the sketch to fully picture the detail. I was rushed to complete this work.
