Basically they are a semi-aquatic egg-laying mammal resembling a canid. They live around freshwater rivers and lakes in family groups and are most active duringifnly the night. They have an omnivorous diet; consuming mainly fish and aquatic vegetation. As social animals they like to communicate with others of their species by singing - their vocalisations are similar to that of dolphins. They make a howling noise which resembles whale-song but in a higher pitch.
They come in shadws of blue, greeny-blues and purples - often with a mixture of colours and various markings, however they all have a dark marking around the eye and fleshy horns upon their heads; longer in males as used for courtship display. Males are territorial in the breeding season and protect their territories by singing and if that does not work then fighting with rivals. Young merlocians do not posses the fleshy horns until they reach maturity at the age of five. During the rest of the year adult males will share and even form bonds with other males.

Looks amazing, such beautifal colours and work from you as always, the hands look so cool and kinda creepy, care to indulge me a little more in the species? Id love to have one but already have a load of charecters I dont use enough if im honest x3
