Cordage, Canvas & Clothing Store by Red Dragonette

Cordage, Canvas & Clothing Store

Red Dragonette

I think my camera's battery was starting to die at this point. I didn't bother taking a picture of the building because I wanted to save power for whatever other things I'll find. At least the picture of the building is on the exhibit sign.

"The Cordage, Canvas and Clothing Store was once the largest structure in the dockyard. It was built in 1792, covering some 899 square meters. The roof compiled of a series of clipped hips creating an attic space that was adapted to provide additional living space for sailors to sling their hammocks.

In design, it resembled the joiners Loft set atop a brick single storey building. The ground or main floor was a large storeroom for rope, cordage, clothing and canvas."
