This bird measures between 9 and 10 inches. It features stripes on its wings. Its musical singing is filled with happy tones and melodies, characterized by its ability to imitate; it is also called "The bird of 400 chants." Sometimes you can hear them at night. They pose on the ground, over the vegetation or they fly down from a tree to catch invertebrates. They feed mainly off insects and berries. They lay between 2 to 5 eggs that hatch after 12 or 13 days. They aggressively defend their nest against other birds and animals, including big iguanas, dogs, and cats. They extend their wings as a territorial exhibition.
