This latest batch of pictures -- at least with the inflatables -- appear to have denser lines and sharper shadows/values than usual. I'm not sure if it's intentional or not, but it seems to create a more cartoony and cheerful look. I think it's neat.

It's interesting considering other pictures of yours in the past have a textured, crayon-like linework that creates a soft innocent and cheeky feel. Both could be related to young kids in terms of being either cheerful or innocent.

Or maybe I'm reading too much into this I'm sorry if this is incredibly silly on my part.

  I tried to get better looking results using less tools and effects, going from using a size 5 sketch pen to a size 14 ink and not using but 2 or 3 layers for colors instead of 5

    Ah, yeah I can imagine. I usually stick with two layers for colour, but then there's two more for values, and if I want to go over line art (like with inflatables) I might end up with another two layers. It might not always be confusing to manage but still a silly irk to see so many layers. I later tried instead having two lineart layers, with one being for internal features that should appear under highlights etc.
