I am currently putting together a partial (Partial partial?) of my character Rapine for Otafest this May long weekend, and here's a WIP of his wings! I'm clearly insane, as I have made and am in the process of furring and quilling all 40 primary and secondary feathers needed. I've placed them against the metal wing skeleton to show their positions when mounted. Why furring? Owl feathers have a velvetty upper surface to break up wind flow, and allow them to fly silently.

Then, the painting. That's where everything's gonna fall apart. 8B
