Meet Trisha!

Trisha has always dreamed of being a predator. Yes, as a fennec, she's very small, but she can feel those predatory instincts, buried somewhere deep inside her. Sometimes she would pass a mouse or a bunny on the street, and her stomach would rumble, or her mouth would start to water. She knows those instincts are there, and sometimes they're quite loud.

But unfortunately, her circumstances have never allowed her to act on them. She grew up in a small town, where everyone knew each other -- not a great environment for a predator. In fact, predation was just not something that happened in her area -- it was a distant, uncouth thing, something that one saw on the news but never expected to be anywhere close to home.

So, when the opportunity had come for a new job, in a new place, she pounced on it.

There are some parts of the world that are still "wild." Places filled with animals that, while as intelligent as Trisha, had elected to eschew civilized life, to live as their ancestors had. They were the real predators, the ones who lived day to day by fang and claw, relying on strength and speed to bring down a meal.

The savanna where Trisha would be giving tours was just such a place.

It wouldn't quite be "real," Trisha knew. It was all a fiction, "exploring" the savanna in a fully-equipped vehicle with a group of rich patrons who wanted to feel like they had "seen the wild." Neither she, nor her clients, would be in any real danger, nor would they be acting like real predators. It was a game, a show.

But maybe, just by proximity, some of it would rub off on Trisha. Maybe by getting to see a real, wild predator, and observe how they acted in their natural habitat, she could figure out how to apply that to herself.

And maybe her change of scenery would give her the opportunities she never had back home. After all, some of those tourists did occasionally vanish. They would get lost, never make their way back to the group. It could happen. She could do it.

Yes, Trisha can't wait to start her new job. It's going to be the start of a whole new life for her.

This was done as another experiment with Krita. I think I'm figuring out settings and methods for the pen tools that are working for me -- I'm really happy with how this has turned out.
