I decided to do a redraw of an old picture after a weird comment drew my attention to it again. So here's my old Glass Prison idea, now in high-quality HD!

The idea is that, in a fantasy world, powerful mages are often difficult to keep in normal prisons. The solution? Glass golems! Crafted from glass and then animated via magic, these golems are powerful juggernauts, hunting down their intended prey with purpose and determination. In spite of the glass appearance, they are incredibly sturdy and strong; when created, they are programmed with a specific target in mind, and immediately begin to seek out that target.

Once they capture said target, they swallow them. Their throat and belly deforms once, and only once, trapping the offender inside forever. The enchantment that grants life to the golem also extends the life of the one trapped inside, making them effectively immortal! But the golem's belly is almost entirely impenetrable, magic-proof, and soundproof (even to the golem) so they're removed from society and can't do any more harm.

The golem can't be reused, so with her mission complete, she is set free and allowed to do whatever she wishes with herself! Of course, the fact that the criminal is still visible can cause some social strife, but the golem will find friends who accept who she is!
