I've been looking at this and I think that it's the proportions that make it uncanny-valley-y. It's like it's too close to actual human proportions (from the neck down of course). I mean really, the last thing we need is a human Bealix, for sure =p
I worried that my proportions were too lazy and based on other cartoon drawings, though you are correct that what happened here is probably not the remedy. I should practice real people separately and let that inform my drawings of fake people rather than try and force them to communicate directly.
