Tali missed the Night Train by Phaeton99

Tali missed the Night Train

Phaeton99

This is the long-promised vector remake of a really old piece dating back to those heady days before the turn of the millennium: 1997.

Originally created as a commission to feature M.Mitchell Marmel's character "Tali" in precarious position on a flying biplane, I took the idea further and not only chose the iconic Beech Staggerwing as the aircraft in action, but attempted to reproduce the look and feel of a classic art deco poster, with all the dynamic energy of the style.

For the greater part, I was successful.

But years later, I became dissatisfied with how rough the inks looked and how unrefined the background appeared in spots, so I set out to remake the entire illustration as clean vector art, fixing errors and refining things overall. After stalling for years due to technical problems and uncertainty, the project was revived when I recently revisited and finished it after a mere two days' effort. It's amazing what a bit of additional skill and experience can bring to things.
