Plum Maiden by Pearlsnake

Plum Maiden

Pearlsnake

A rework of Lalamika's portrait commission.
The original got sadly lost in the mail and because my derp-self forgot to put tracking on it, I replaced it c:
In all honesty I like this one better anyway :Y Thank you, USPS.

The original is iridescent and has gold accents but scanners eat those :<

Beautiful work. I love the details on the mask, and the coloring on the hair!

Gosh, this is a beautiful work :)
How do you get to produces watercolor that are so clean? Everytime I try it's always a very smudgy mess :(

      ^^ Thank you!
For me: I wait for it to dry between layers. Working on moist areas is super difficult (for me) so if I work on the hair, I'll lay down a thin layer, leave it alone and do the eyes next, then the ear insides, ect. and keep touching up as I go avoiding touching anything that is still wet so it doesn't "seep"

Oh wow, what a beautiful portrait! I love the colouring in the hair especially, it's as if it's flowing like liquid :3
Lovely detailing on the face-mask and I really like how perfectly feline her face is too! <3
