Despite his strength accumulated over the course of evolving up to a Typhlosion, Marty here's awfully shy when it comes to just about any social event, especially one where he'll be taking center stage!

His trainer seemed to notice this, and thought of one thing that might boost his confidence. While Marty might have been a tad hesitant at first, not only at the thought of his whole body becoming solid, immobile rock, but also the fact that everyone would see him like that, eventually he got sweet-talked into it.

Thankfully, all being a proper statue really takes is having struck just the right pose beforehand, and once they got Marty to stop giggling and look like the fierce fighter he was, the process of petrifying and mounting him was a swift one. It was... nice, not having to worry that he was screwing this up. And once the admiration started showing in the crowd around him, it didn't take much at all for him to feel as proud inside as his stone body looked.
