It had been said in her childhood that all that was good had come from that tree, now little more than frozen branches that spread like a glistening web across the sky. Kin couldn’t remember if the tree had withered up all at once when The Great Freeze had happened, or slowly afterwards. It had been too long. Her memory seemed to get foggy - or perhaps, smokey was a better word.
