A belated birthday present for my friend CosmicAntlers CosmicAntlers of his character Zongzi, who is a very big fu dog!

I had a lot of fun with this piece and used it as an opportunity to push more style experiments and technique approaches to things. I tried out some new shading methods, some new lighting, more line work exploration and all sorts of other stuff that may be boring for people to read!

In any event, just know that this is a big pup who is soft and very strong! Incidentally, this is the first time I've drawn a bust instead of a full-body since I started this art odyssey, really--so it was a big change of pace! The working size of this canvas was kind of enormous. Overall, this took about four and a half hours.
