British Humour by OddOly

British Humour

OddOly

So does anyone remember this?

The book came out in late spring, I was just too distracted to post about it.

The TARDIS you see on the original cover got replaced with a red phone box because apparently the TARDIS was "not famous enough" but other than that it was a very pleasant and fun project as far as jobs go. I decided to go with a somewhat different style than my usual one because I wanted it to remind English textbooks - back when I was a kid those were the only textbooks I had where the illustrations were actually fun.

If you look hard enough you can see PC Fisher, younger Quinton Rhoades (or 12th Doctor or Malcolm Tucker if you prefer) and a few others. ;)

Those looked a lot like Peter Capaldi, David Tennant, Catherine Tate and Billie Piper XD

I love these illustrations! It's interesting to see your style simplified! A lot of these make me want to know what's going on in the text.

Thank you! You can ask about specific ones but they all are chapter headers and illustrate different aspects of British humour or tips on making jokes and so on. For me analysing humour is both interesting and weird - it's kind of like post-mortem, it either wasn't alive (or in our context funny) from the start or isn't by the time you're done. :P

I have to know what's up with the giant snake.

I'm pretty sure it was the chapter about laughing in the face of danger! :D
