This is a commission for izisio, of his cat as the Queen of the Damned - He was pretty specific in the pose and stuff he wanted from the movie, but it let me experiment with some shading techniques! It was really fun!

I've never seen the movie but I like this pic. You're good at using black. I've heard that some people struggle with giving black furred characters depth.

Yeah, it was really difficult at first, though I think my current method of using a desaturated base, and then having the highlights and shadows more saturated is a step closer to something that looks good :) It took a lot of trial and error, though!

I'm always impressed by people who can draw well but I think coloring is an art all on its own. That's why I notice things like this. Sometimes I color line art so I know a little about what you mean. I'm not quite at this level though.
