I'm up in the air about it. It shouldn't be a day just to show you love. why cant you do that every other day of the year? but at the same time it's still nice to do something that day. I admit I felt left out when my friends had dates and fancy chocolate an I got none lol

You make a fair point. But, I think it's easy to sometimes take for granted so a sort of "prompt" or whatever is alright. I mean, nobody complains about Mother's/Father's day :P
It can be a bummer when it's like "Oh, you don't have a bf/gf, you dont get to do valentines day", though. That's why I like making cards - it's easy and fun and you can "give" them to anybody.

lots of people seem to like to hate on v-day, but I think it's a nice holiday. I view it more as a "celebration of love", and not just strictly in the romantic sense. You can love your friends, or love your family, or love yourself! Just appreciate the things in your life that make you happy!
And the corny puns and tacky cards! Love those too!
