This didn't really fit in with anything else I was working on at the time, but it shouldn't be hard to see why I wanted to take it from a sketch to a full color picture! I didn't want my main male protagonist looking like a wimp, which he kinda did in his previous picture in my opinion. This was a great chance to show him off in a heroic light. The ninja thing really took off by this point, and it gave him that extra bit of badass he needed. Was also a good chance to test out if I could pull off speedlines, my first attempt at the time! About the only thing I'm still unhappy with is the lack of detail on that foreground spear. I wouldn't make that kind of mistake now.
