It is, the Dutch word for meerkat is "stokstaartje", which literally means "little stick tail" because they use their stiff tail to stand up.

WOOD-OTTER: Ivory! I have some wood needed! Can you still get a big stick for me?
(five minutes later)
PANEL 2
CATBEAR/THYLACINE: Let me go you stupid dog!
DOG: Here's your stick!
WOOD-OTTER: Stick-tail...
Might be a pun or play-on-words that only makes sense in Dutch...
