Darkness in pink glee by Nimble

Darkness in pink glee

It was a rainy day. Amy wasn't very keen on going outside. Not because it was raining, but because there was nothing to do in the first place. Nobody to hang around with, no place to go out or to have a drink and just have fun. Every day was more or less the same for her; she woke up, ate breakfast and proceeded to stare out of the window, wishing there was somebody out there that would do something with her.

Yet nobody ever came, nobody ever came up to her door and knocked to ask if she wanted to go out - especially on this rainy day. "Who would go out in the rain anyway? Not me," she thought. She sighed as she stared out of the window and put down her coffee mug. Feeling a little nauseous, she stood up from her chair and tried to keep her balance - perhaps the loneliness was getting to her.

She took a deep breath and tugged her fox tail in between her legs as she balanced herself with the help of the chair. Amy had a brown tail, which fit well with her beige fur and the other brown accents on her arms and legs, which is common for vixens. She had one particular color that stood out, which was her natural bright pink hair and her pink eyes.

She tried to walk forward, but was too tired. Slowly but surely she made it over to the bedroom, where she fell down on top of the bed. It was roughly 2 PM - there was no need to sleep yet - so she just stared at the ceiling. The wooden ceiling in her cottage was the only thing she wasn't happy with in this place; the primary reason for it being that it was old and rotten. Driplets were starting to form on the ceiling as the rain could be heard pouring down on the roof of her cottage.

It was only a matter of seconds before a driplet would fall down right on her naked body. She picked up the pillow on the bed and put it on top of her, almost hugging it. It didn't cover the entirety of her body, so it wouldn't stop any driplets from falling on her, but neither did she care too much. She wasn't wearing any clothes as there really wasn't any reason to, as she had fur to keep her warm. Not to mention she was here all alone and nobody ever walked by. Maybe they thought that nobody ever used the cottage and perhaps just assumed that it was haunted?

Could be; from the outside it looked like it was built at least 50 years ago. The stone on the walls was crumbled and the wood from the roof had started to rot. It was located in a field about a hundred meters away from the closest road and there were weeds growing up the sides of the walls. It wasn't a pretty sight to say the least, but she didn't mind living here. The only reason she stayed is because she was intrigued by the underground chambers.

It was about six months ago that she had found the chambers. She had only found them a month after she moved in, because its entrance was hidden away under a carpet. Even though she had known about the chambers for such a long time, she had only entered it twice so far, but both times she got too scared to go any further in. Something about the place felt so sacred and so special, which made her feel as if she had to stay close to it.

Drip. She could feel a drop of rain fall down from the roof, right on her upper right leg. Never had it rained so hard that the rain could get through like that, it would usually get a little soaky during the rain but nothing this bad. Drip, another raindrop fell on her leg. "Oh come on," she said out loud. She dropped the pillow next to her on the bed, then stood up and looked around.

Looking at the other side of the room, her eyes rested on the carpet that had been pushed aside to partly reveal the entrance to the underground chambers. She knew this was the only place she would stay dry during this rain, even if she was a little scared to go down there again. The entrance to the chambers was covered by a relatively big wooden trapdoor. It was about the size of an average desk. She always wondered why it was that large.

Drip. Drip, drip. More raindrops started falling down from the ceiling right on top of her head. "Time to go," she thought as she sighed and started walking towards the trapdoor. The floor under her bare feet was rather cold to the touch, as well as a little wet from the leaking roof. She crouched down at the door and dragged the carpet out of the way which exposed the door entirely. A quiet static noise could be heard coming from under the door. Maybe it was the sound of the rain falling on the grass outside that was echoing through the chambers? She disregarded it, and slowly reached for the handle on the door and gripped on to it.

A little bit scared, she bit her lip and closed her eyes as she lifted the door up. It wasn't very heavy, which was interesting to note considering the size of the door. As she opened it, she started to feel a gentle warmth and a faint glow in her closed eyelids. She had never experienced this before when she opened the door previously, so she curiously opened her eyes. What she saw was a bright blue glow coming out of the slightly opened door. "What the..." Her mouth opened wide as she stared at the blue glow. She could feel the warmth coming out from the trapdoor, and she found it quite welcoming. So welcoming in fact, that she decided to continue and open the door completely to investigate further.

As the door stood open she stared into the entrance, still crouching. Just hovering above the stairs that connect the entrance to the chambers, was a bright blue blob of light, emitting a static noise that could now be heard all throughout the room. Not sure of what to do, she stared at the ball in amazement, wondering what it could be, and why she wasn't scared of it. She sat there on her knees for about a minute, wondering what in the world she has been living on for the past year. Slowly, the blob started to retreat. The brightness and sound lowered as she could feel the room getting colder. She watched it slowly move back down the stairs, lighting up the stairway as it stopped again at the bottom.

Amy knew what she had to do. She shook her head and closed her mouth that had been open for the entire time. "I must do this," she said to herself with confidence in her voice, "I must go down there and follow the light." The warmth of the light felt trusted to her, feeling like she could trust it completely. She stood up and slowly lifted a foot into the entrance, placing it on the first step of the stairs. She closed her eyes, took a deep breath and opened her eyes again as she placed her other foot a step lower.

Step by step she lowered herself deeper into the cold underground area. She could see the light right there in front of her in the hallway. Making a sudden whirring noise, it quickly moved into an open doorway, leaving the hallway in a rather dark setting. Amy panicked and quickly ran after it, "what am I doing," she thought to herself right as she went through the door that the light just went into. She looked inside the entrance into another hallway, the walls looking old and crumbled, with more closed doors on the sides.

The glowing light seemed to have stopped moving, as it steadily pulsated a glow on the wall and floors coming from the door at the end of the hall. Amy sighed and stepped forward, slowly walking past several closed doors on her left and right. She wondered what could lay behind those doors as frightening thoughts went through her head. She didn't want to think about the closed doors now. She had to focus on the open door and follow the blue light, that's where she had to go. She wasn't sure why, but she knew that's what she had to do. It was certainly better than thinking about the closed doors, anyway.

The closer she walked to the blue light, the more it dimmed. "It's moving again," she thought. There was a slight glow of pink light taking over the blue light on the wall, clearly coming from the same source of light she has been chasing. Amy took a step back, unsure of what was happening, but the pink light felt welcoming to her. This was where she had to go, because the lights told her so. Feeling confident that the trust she put in the lights was justified, she walked towards the open door and peeked her head around the corner. A bright pink light flashed into her eyes, blinding her, yet she couldn't look away. She felt warm and trusted, this is where she had to be. She walked inside the room, fell on her knees, and blacked out.
