How long has it been since I actually finished a piece? Far, far too long... I need to step up my game.

This cheerful lady (and yes, that's a girl) is Saga Ström, one of my candidates for the FBA 2015 draft. If you don't know what the FBA is, basically it's some sort of weird hybrid of a fantasy basketball league and an RP... it would be one-of-a-kind were it not for the imitators that it spawned. ;P Anyway, Saga is a Swedish player who has quite the chip on her shoulder, and is so dedicated to the game that she comes off as at least borderline obsessive. Being a major perfectionist doesn't help... except for when it does... because it means that she's trying to be better than the best that she can be.

Art-wise, this was initially done as a paper sketch. I took a photo, intending to properly scan it later... but I procrastinated on that one too much. Instead I eventually decided to give it a go at digitally redrawing the entire thing in MyPaint. So I did. It's not the first time I've used that program, but I seriously decided to try shading, and all I can say is "wtf why didn't I try that sooner?!" Sure, there's a lot that could be better, but just adding the shading makes my stuff look so much better.

I'm quite liking the scribbly style I've got here as well. Should do stuff with it more often.
