Yes I did it, I made Moon a demon form and I don't have regrets, mostly because I've had this initial idea for months (along with the design), and figured out how to make it work in the story without overpoweredness on Moon's part.

In a nutshell, this is an incomplete form of a false-demon advancement Moon was forcefully shifted into by the Order of Daimonion. Theoretically the complete form would be a more humanoid-body appearance similar that to the demon Maurofenrir. Here, it's about only halfway there. In my specific story plot, Werewolves are not the traditional-origin kind and rather monsters that were created by Maurofenrir's extremely powerful energies corrupting human beings and changing them into monstrous wolf-man beasts. In a normal case, a werewolf succumbs to ferality and in turn loses all humanity, and remains a beast lurking in the darkness of the woodlands of the realm. However, if a sentient should come up and tap into energy power, that individual can become a false demon (a demon that is created, true demons are far more spirit-based and have existed for all eternity). If a werewolf should achieve this state, it becomes a miniature sort of Maurofenrir-like demon with the same powers as the original, the most special one being the ability to "command" normal werewolves to its will.

The Order of Daimonion basically attempts to try and force Moon into this state to use as a weapon, with that seal on Moon's neck keeping her from obtaining a complete demonic form, which would lead to Moon losing humanity entirely. Being incomplete, Moon can still revert to her normal self, but this form is extremely hard on her body being an intermediate form between a normal biological being and a demon. In other words, while she is powerful in this demon, she can't exactly control it and it kills her, going as far as stopping her heart after a while. The bonelike armor appears by protruding from internal bone, except for the mask-like skull portion.

With this form a problem and unsealed, Moon CANNOT shift into werewolf form, and must stay in human form to avoid being overcome by a highly unstable demonic power. This means that while this form is a thing, Moon isn't actually a werewolf, but rather something in between human and demon. You can basically think of this form as a form of a really unhealthy evolution of Moon's werewolf form, so she can't take on a wolflike appearance here. Conversely, if this form is stabilized and she is reverted, she can't take this form on and will take on her normal werewolf form instead. It is an either-or scenario, never a both, in this case.
