Some info, the Peshmerga are the armed forces of Iraqi Kurdistan, a people with a history of facing oppression from the central Iraqi governments, worst from during Saddam Hussein's reign. They are currently fighting with limited foreign support against ISIL, also with the hope of establishing an independent Kurdish state. The Peshmerga does not include Kurds from other regions, which have their own units.
