OLD Gift Art for :iconquickxyk:
http://www.furaffinity.net/user/quickxyk

This one was drawn sometime after last years convention. like the drawing i did for Kyell Gold (Getty Up), i completely forgot i had done this one for Xyk. He was such a pleasure to meet. He pointed out Michael Bergey to me who i then got the online info to buy his "New coyote" books. Which i then read both in four days!. I told him i wanted to doodle him something but he was so nice and it is because of him i found a little joy last year in those amazing books. It has been such a busy and weird year i completely forgot i had done this for him. Again, just like Kyell, i had intended to bring him this physical artwork for the con this year. I plan to do both and many others some nice color badges this year sometime before Christmas.

It has been such sudden chaos with a close death in the family. This entire month has been a bit of a blur to me. The funeral is next weekend, so i am preparing for it emotionally. Every little bit of happiness and hope and joy that art brings me, has made all the difference. Art for me is about producing a smile in myself as i draw, and a smile in others as they laugh at my ideas. It also warms my heart to share with others my gift and every little comment is like every single nice person in person at a con who has ever taken the time to chat with me. I do not know Xyk very well yet but he has been very kind the the past two years. I can be so timid and scared to even talk to people at times. Especially in a hectic crazy convention atmosphere which is a bit socially exhausting.

At any rate, it was fun to doodle this, i just wish i had remembered i had done it, and brought it for him. There was a lot of art i did not get to do this year, which is why i wanted to do badges. Even after the recent tragedy that paused every aspect of my normal life, i managed to push forward and find some normalcy in my artistic pursuits. Two weeks ago i bought a $1140 13HD Cintiq drawing screen tablet. It was a very big investment as i have wanted and needed one for a long while. It will help close the disconnect between traditional and digital art. Hopefully this marks the start of some much more amazing art in my future. After all i need to illustrate my own novels some day so i need to really up my skills. Drawing art for kind people is just a nice way to put my "drawing more" to good use.
