...Lucas needs to give himself credit where credit is due on his scientific shenanigans.

Once the blob had finished having its fun, it spit out a new blob, that molded into a reformed Lucas! Memories intact, he was happy his experiment worked - though he was rather suprised to find himself having some goo-like qualities temporarily.

It only made sense - a blob isn't going to spawn a solid creature at first, it's going to make things with blob-like consistency. His bones and whatnot will reform as normal but it'll take a day or two. Enough time for him to share the experience with someone else, if he so desired...
