Roco's Steel Artist - Round 47 - Damien and Nuzlocke 2/2 by Mewtwo

Roco's Steel Artist - Round 47 - Damien and Nuzlocke 2/2

Mewtwo

...the reason being Damien got hungry

tl;dr; incoming! (Mostly same description on the prior submission.)

I decided to kill two birds with one stone here. Due to a certain someone who is QUITE unfair with his treatment of Charizards, the idea spawned to make a Charizard of my own who will -never- be found inside the gut, phallus, or any other orifice of another creature. Damien here will be a jack of all trades as a predator - sometimes cruel, sometimes kind, and sometimes a bit of each in his devouring of prey.

The other issue here is my utter hatred of the recent "Nuzlocke" fad that has swept the Pokemon fanbase.

It is my belief that these type of runs miss out on the entire point of the Pokemon world as a whole - both exploration, and the game's very tagline - "Gotta Catch 'Em All!". A player won't have the ability to catch 'em all if they're going out of their way to NOT catch Pokemon despite their rarity, because they weren't the first encountered in an area...just as importantly, it is possible to form an emotional bond with a Pokemon under one's care without sentencing them to death upon their first loss! The anime's Damien, a human trainer, abandoned his Pokemon for not being strong enough to survive battle - I consider those who partake in Nuzlocke gameplay to be equally heartless Trainers who only keep their Pokemon until they fall in battle.

For those who see this that insist on continuing along this path, I would hope that you would consider boxing your fainted Pokemon and then sending them to other up-and-coming Trainers over the GTS - there is no reason for them to meet their end just because you failed in your hard mode challenge.

I will have other future commissions along these lines posted shortly, that touch upon another important issue regarding nuzlocke runs - more specifically, the endgame.

Thank you again, roco, for taking on my commissions. I hope to do a lot more in your future Steel Artist slots - and while this shouldn't be all that controversial, I do know it might stir up some feelings with some /vp/-goers, and I HOPE that I have no further controversy to focus on within your commissions.
