Ah man, rocks used to seem like a pain in the butt for me, but I find sometimes it helps to block out a big solid shape in the shadow color and then block in lighter patches where the light hits. Of course it always takes some touching up and maybe a little bit of redoing in places, but I think rocks can be a lot of fun!
