Ever wonder what your life would have been like, if only it had gone another way?

As those of you who are familiar with Ciara's story may remember, her parents exiled her from her home at a young age in order to save her from an impending siege. She then traveled to the City of Rabbits, where she met up with Niamh, her best friend and future wife, and went on to have any number of adventures which made her who she is today.

But what if she'd never been sent away from home? What if she'd stayed locked up in her room with her books and her dreams, just yearning for the day when she would leave her life as Connor's bastard and make something of herself?

The funny thing is, this is pretty much exactly how I'd imagined Ciara might have ended up if her side won the war all those years ago.

The title is her's, too, I just stole it because I thought it fit perfectly.
