Finally, I can post this in it's completed state!
When I first launched my Patreon back in the beginning of summer, one of my milestone goals was a thank you piece involving Spix. Then shit got super crazy busy, and I didn't even start it for a very long time. Once I did start it, I spent a long time planning the setting, the objects in the background, what colors they would all be to tie in with each, and all that good stuff. I really wanted this to be a prime example of the most I am currently capable of in terms of quality for a traditional media work.
The desserts on the top shelf are checkerboard cookies, Mont Blanc, and cannolis. After that I alternated between vanilla cake with chocolate frosting, and various sponge-like cakes. From left to right they're cherry, peach with toasted coconut, raspberry, pineapple upside-down cake, strawberry with cream filling, and a little square of mango on buttercream frosting. The bottom shelf is a big ol' New York cheesecake, a larger version of the strawberry shortcake on the middle shelf, and a chocolate ganache cake modeled after one my mom made before. And of course the flan~
I hope that you all like this picture, and enjoy taking in the little details as much as I enjoyed making them. In a year's time, I'd like if I could do a picture like this again, where I take a couple weeks or months to finish it, and see how much I've leveled up in skill in comparison to this one.
If you like this piece, and you want to help support my efforts to keep studying and improving, please read through my Patreon page and consider contributing. Thank you so much to those that have in the past, it has meant a lot to me, financially and emotionally.
