Here we have what have been affectionately referred to in my studio as "fatty dragons". The time has come to replace the place-holder name though and I'm trying to decide.
The current trending favourite on my Facebook page is "loaf dragon", which I like but I'd rather keep it to one word.
My favourite is "tomadach" or tommy for short (the 'ch' is soft). Tomadach means "of greater size" in Scottish gaelic, and I'm also told tomodachi means "friend" in Japanese!
A tomadach, a bunch of tomadachs, some tommies, a tommy.
It's currently sparking wide debate on how to pronouch the 'ch' though - I keep saying it's pronoucned like the soft ch in loch or Bach but I'm told that is no help. Here is a link to someone pronouncing "loch" correctly: http://www.howjsay.com/index.php?word=loch+lomond&submit=Submit A sort of soft hissing "gh" noise.
While I love the double meaning and short version of tomadach it's likely it'll be pronounced incorrectly for time immemorial. I don't know if that is a good thing in order to spark conversation, or if it's just stupid.
Another option is "Mhor" which means mountain. Someone suggested "furmhor" which literally translates to furry mountain. I like it a lot but want to use it for something bigger and more ogre-y.
Other suggestions are:
Butterball dragons
Chubbies
Pudgeball dragons
Shoopuhls

how about cute, I think that suits them well (sorry this isn't helpful, I'm just totally enamored by them!). Butterball dragons or chubbies are my top pick :D
