Originally done for a contest, this was my first time EVER working on a canvas. But I got this picture in my head and just HAD to try it.
Acrylic on canvas. No refs, believe it or not. Actually that should be obvious from the fact that I got the shading totally BACKWARDS where the shoulder meets the back. lol Oops. Too late now. XD Those paints aren't as opaque as I'd sometimes like.
I've decided I love painting on an actual canvas. :) This is the first piece of artwork in a LONG time that has come this close to matching the picture I had in my head. It matches it almost precisely, escept the main blue on the lion shouldn't have been leaning toward the green end so much - was picturing more of a grey-blue but I have a limited pallette at the moment. Beggars can't be choosers and I have to use the really cheap acrylics right now. lol
