Corrupt form has no choice in infection. Other corrupt may infect anyone that is not already a guardian (within reason characters not belonging to you or closed species without given permission are OFF LIMITS). They are generally unaware of infection & are tasked with gathering souls for something only known as source. They have no choice for turning & WILL turn every solstice. In solstice form they MUST have these traits to be called corrupt
-a tail made of bone & on fire (if they don't have a tail normally they will gain one in corrupt form)
-Emaciated appearance, being corrupt takes a lot of energy and when they cannot find enough souls to collect to burn, their own soul will burn.
-a metal triangular headdress that cannot be removed until they are done with tasks appointed by source. They cannot Change back to normal until they are finished (until Solstice is over)
-head on fire. They are always burning and often screaming, but it is uncertain weather it's the screaming of the corrupt themselves or the souls that they burn to keep the lantern lit and return to source.
Lanterns somewhere on the physical body, often in pairs & any design. These are what stolen souls are housed in & some burned to keep the lanterns lit. The resulting light & remaining soul fragments are what are delivered to source @ the solstices end.
Goop covering the head inside the headdress & running down the front of the body. Sticky, thick, usually dark in color. When souls are first captured they are crushed inside the headdress until they become the goop that fuels their burning lanterns.
-although in torment during the solstice, not many corrupt chose this way of life and outside of the solstice feel no Ill effects from their time as a corrupt. Many are unaware of their condition & retain no memories during this time. If made aware, they can continue to serve as corrupt or chose to be reinfected with the guardian strain & drop their corrupted form.
Any species may become corrupt, may be anthro or feral in appearance
