Nikau, standing outside a building on Keone, wearing the sort of generic military fatigues that Lightbearer Dominion personnel often wear when not wearing a jumpsuit or their battle gear.
In the time since I last drew Nikau, I decided that I did, in fact, want to make him a Dominion soldier.

While generally quite calm and patient by nature, Keahi make excellent soldiers when used for more "defensive" roles like guard duty and security details or serving as military police, as despite their general lack of aggression, they are quite solidly built and physically strong by nature, and are great at keeping calm even under pressure.

I imagine that Nikau, much like Domec, isn't particularly outstanding as a soldier, on the lower end of "average competence", capable enough to be added to the security detail of a lower-priority installation or cargo shipment escort or something--which would explain why he and Domec are friends, as Nikau may be stationed aboard the same patrol cruiser orbiting some backwater Dominion colony planet whose primary relevance is mining and manufacturing (and establishing some sort of presence in and claim on that particular star system) but isn't particularly strategically relevant.
Either that, or Nikau is part of the planetside security forces, but finds himself aboard the cruiser routinely, or perhaps regularly bumps into Domec when he is tasked with piloting a supply shuttle down to the base on the planet's surface.

This is the first time I've ever drawn him wearing more than undies, a necklace, and a smile, I think.
